Negative Thought Patterns – Are they habits?
As I just wrote the header I realized that tackling “negative thought patterns” is like climbing a very high mountain for some of us. So, how about taking a step. One step. Developing an awareness about one persistent negative thought pattern you have. Just one. What is it? The one I’ve decided to tackle right now, as I write this, is about my weight. Thoughts about what I don’t like just pull more of the same to me, so now that I’m aware of the negative thoughts I have about my weight, I’m going to work to replace it.
There are several ways to do this. One is every time you think the thought, or say it out loud, say cancel or delete. The other is to replace it. Find, write, ask Creator for a positive statement to replace it with. The universe will bring you one. In my Basic ThetaHealing Class recently one of my students came in with something she’s using that has worked for her. She’d let go of 20 lbs in just a few weeks with asking the Universal Source/Creator/God to make her body the best weight for her so that she can be the best she can be. I really like this because it moves beyond our beliefs and images and says okay, I just want my body to be the best it can be from the creator’s perspective, definition and understanding. If you’d like the Creator’s/Universal Source’s/God’s perspective definition and understanding of a negative habit that’s ready for your awareness and change now, just say YES (out loud).

I’ve noticed that sometimes the universe answers us in different ways. I think my student’s coming to my class and delivering the above statement to me and the rest of the class was an answer from the universe.
Some guidelines – shorter is better. Quick. Easy to remember. Another way to put the example we are working with is My body weight is the best for me to be the best I can be.
